Officials of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission have arrested eight councillors of Yola North Metropolitan Council of Adamawa.

The chairman who declined to give the names of those arrested or the reason why they were arrested said only the EFCC could do that.

When contacted on the development, the spokesman of Adamawa Police Command, SP Othman Abubakar, who did not give the number of those arrested, said that it was purely the affairs of EFCC.

“All I know is that EFCC officials brought them to our facility”, Abubakar said.

You have all failed us. We the people are tired. We can no longer continue with all of you. All your excuses and mistakes are not funny. We do not wish to continue with a system and government that is not working but afflicting the people. We the people of this country not living under the privileges of government allowances and remuneration have now accepted to take the bull by the horn to come out and protest this obnoxious and baseless policies and excuses of the government of the day. Where are the recovered looted funds? 

Why do we still have the executive arms and legislatures still enjoying their salaries and allowances while we hear there’s no money to pay workers? Why do we still see ceaseless power failures with no explanation and hope of getting out of it unlike before? Why do we keep seeing peace talks in Niger Delta, fulani heardsmen and ipob without any solutions being reached, while the strategies keeps aggravating the people involved as political leaders stage forums to extort funds in the name of addressing their subjects? Why did we have petrol price rise to 145 for the sake of global oil price crash and removal of subsidy but such price is still being maintained despite significant re-awakening of the oil price from $30/barrel to $56/barrel? Who is to be held accountable for the sudden and continuous hike in price of commodities in the market, where for the first time in history, Nigeria is suddenly selling kerosene at 400 naira per litre as against 50 naira per litre, diesel at 300 naira per litre as against 100 naira per litre and petrol from 87 naira to 145 naira? Yet maintaining the same systems, environment and maybe a lesser money spending government.

TRUMP IS WORKING: Just Few Days After Inaguaration President Donald Trump Deletes Gay Rights

Shortly after Donald Trump assumed office, everything on the Whitehouse’ official website was moved and archived on a new Obama website and was replaced with a Trump site. 

The updated WhiteHouse.gov website neglected to include certain social issues that seem to matter to some America citizens, issues like LGBT rights, Civil rights and climate change. A search for LGBT on the WhiteHouse.gov website came up with a blank. 


Trump made it clear during his campaign that he was opposed to same-sex marriage and his Vice, Mike Pence, shares the same view has never hidden the fact that he is anti-gay. Inflammatory comments were posted on news articles that pointed out the disappearance of the LGBT rights page, most of them frighteningly homophobic.

 “Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Men marry women or you won’t be with us,”  one comment read. Meanwhile, human Rights Campaign president, Chad Griffin, has called on Trump “to reinstate the pages immediately.”

 He said, “If President Trump truly believes in uniting the country, now is the time to make clear whether he will be an ally to the LGBT community in our struggle for equality. We are prepared to do whatever it takes to protect our community and our progress.

Lord, if it’s your will to break up Nigeria, break it now – Oyedepo

The founder and presiding Bishop of the megachurch, Living Faith Church Worldwide International, AKA  Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has invoked God’s curses on those fueling Southern Kaduna killings, saying God should break up Nigeria now if it is His will.

The Bishop who, during a ministration and while raining down curses on those promoting the wanton killings, equally said that God sent him to this continent as His apostle of liberation to stop it from decadence. “God sent me as His apostle of liberation to this continent to stop it from decadence.” “I heard from God and He has proved it beyond measure. Therefore, every occultic root, every political root of this uprising is cursed today!” The congregation shouted “Amen!”

“All the northern forces that are sponsoring this uprising and killings, i decree the curse of God upon them.” Congregation shouted “Amen!” Speaks in tongues. Continuing, he said, ” Lord, if it is your will to break up Nigeria, break it now!” Speaks in tongues again. To his members, he said,


 “Come on, pray in the spirit everybody. Pray in the spirit, open fire, call down the Holy Ghost fire to descend on the camp of the enermy. Enough is Enough!” Speaks in tongues again. “If Nigeria wakes up, wait for the church to rise. There will be no more nation, what nonsense.” “What demonic devils. What Islamic demons. If Nigeria waits for the church to rise, Nigeria will disappear as a nation.” Speaks in tongue. “You mean God cannot protect people? What a mess!” 


“Every agent of destruction in Government today, call fire down on their head, call fire down on their head.” “Everyone sponsoring evil against the nation, let your fire fall on him!” “A Boko Haram agent was captured and they said he escaped. Everyone connected to his escape, fire consume them, consume them, consume them!” To his congregation, he said, “Go ahead and pray.” Prays in tongue.


 “Fire of the Lord consume them!” “I was even told from report that they were targeting this church. I said what?” “Even if i was asleep, if you see anybody here kill him! Kill him and spill his blood on the ground. I am saying that to you, what nonsense, what devil. You think our God is an idol?” 


The faithful shouted “No!” “If I put fire on your tail to overrun the city, you will do it in one minute. What is that? What devil?” “I stand today with every authority on me, and I declare the Boko Haram camp cursed!” “I declare their collaborators cursed! I decree their sponsors cursed!” “I declare their collaborators cursed. I decree their sponsors cursed!” “Must the north continue to rule?” “What devils!”

 “God has anointed me to lead a revolution against the Islamic jihadist and as the Lord liveth and as the anointing of Jeru-Baal that’s on me, we declare them extinct in the name of Jesus!” “Amen!” “You catch anyone that looks like them, kill him!” “There is no reporting to anybody. Vice Chancellor of FUTA, reportedly arrested for hitting staff member with his car

 

The police in Ondo state have reportedly arrested the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, for hitting a member of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the school, Abiodun Ademola Atunbi, with his car at the main campus of the school at Oba’nla in Akure this morning.


Members of staff were said to have gathered at a particular place to pray when the incident happened. Police Officers from the Okuta Elerinla Police Station arrested Prof. Daramola shortly after the accident occurred.

Aggrieved members of the staff gathered and staged a protest in the school. Some of them set up bonfire within the school campus.

The Vice Chancellor and members of staff of the school have been at loggerheads for a while, with some of them calling for his removal from office.
