A bullion van driver identified as Olaoluwa Omotoso, has confessed to theEconomic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ) for conveying the N1 . 219billion, which he allegedly delivered to the Ekiti State Governor , Ayodele Fayose ,in the build- up to the June 2014 governorship election in the state, which Fayosewon .It can be recalled that the anti -graft agency is currently investigating theoutspoken Ekiti state governor for allegedly receiving the N1 .219 billion throughthe Office of the National Security Adviser ( ONSA) for his 2014 campaign, anamount said to be part of the N4 . 7 billion allegedly diverted from the ONSAunder Col . Sambo Dasuki.According to Punch Newspapers, the driver reportedly drove the bullion van tothe Akure airport tarmac on June 17, 2014, to transport the N1 .219 billionallegedly flown from Lagos by Obanikoro , adding that he made two separatetrips to the airport because of the large volume of cash.Omotosho also confessed to the EFCC that part of the money was taken to abank in Alagbaka, Akure, on the instruction of Fayose ’ s friend , Agbele , whilethe remaining money was taken to Spotless Hotel , Ado Ekiti , which is owned byFayose and his wife , Feyisetan .An EFCC detective who spoke to a correspondent on Thursday, said , “ Omotosoexplained that on June 17 , 2014, he was given a directive to go to the Akureairport to convey some funds. He said he went to the airport twice to move themoney . He said some of the money was taken to a bank while he , along withAgbele, moved the remaining cash to Spotless Hotel , Ado Ekiti .“He said the money was moved in three vehicles , including one bullionvan andtwo Toyota Hilux vans . The two Toyota Hilux vans had some soldiers inside forsecurity while Agbele was with him in the Hilux van.“He said he did not know exactly how much was conveyed. He explained thatAgbele held the keys to the vault in the bullion van . On getting to Spotless Hotelat night , they offloaded the cash andAgbele entered the vehicle to search andensure that no money was left behind. Agbele then returned the keys andOmotoso drove
